When it comes to trends, Hardia knows a thing or two about the fashion pieces to covet. So in this week’s blog post, we asked her to take us through her top 5 trends from the new season and how to wear them no matter your shape, size or style. Get ready to scroll through what is no doubt going to be your new season wardrobe.
If you know Hardia, you’ll know she’s a lover of all-inclusive fashion, but sometimes it’s hard to see something on the runway and translate it to smart-casual fashion you can wear to work or on the school run. ‘Just because you’re not a size 0 and don’t fly around the world on private jets, it doesn’t mean you can’t wear looks straight from the runway, in fact, one of my favourite things is to challenge those stereotypes and really make them my own.’
‘This season there are some really exciting looks on the runway that have a nod to vintage fashion which is one of my favourite styles. Big sleeves and maxi accessories are the order of the day and I can’t wait to share my edit with you.’
I’m so here for this trend, I love the masculine accessories paired with feminine silhouettes – plus who doesn’t love wearing Doc Martens, they’re so comfy! To really nail this trend, pair some tartan trousers with a coordinating jacket and a classic blouse for an office-friendly take or swap the blouse for a t-shirt and converses for off-duty chic.
Hair accessories aren’t going anywhere and we’re super excited about that here at the salon. Channel your inner 80’s with big bows a ’la Madonna or for a more subtle style mix up your clips and grips to suit your own personal style. Oh, and you mustn’t forget the headband, it’s going nowhere fast!
In my mind, leather is a wardrobe classic and no woman should be without the classic leather jacket or leather pants. Update your leather this season by adding a leather dress – perfect for wearing smart or casual when you mix up your accessories.
Quite possibly my favourite trend of the season and yet another nod to the 80s, the big sleeve is a new way to make a statement. From simple dresses with voluminous sleeve detail to pairing a puffy blouse with denim, quite frankly, the bigger the sleeve the better.
If you’ve been in the salon, you’ll know I’m such a fan of animal print and that doesn’t just stop with interiors. Leopard print was the one to covet last season, but now you’re going to want to start adding in other animals like tiger and zebra to keep this look current.
